Field Trip

On a beautiful June morning the Greenschool Committee along with Mr. McDonnell, Mrs. Mullen and Mrs. Branigan travelled to the Biodiversity Garden in Blackrock. There they were met by Mrs. Ann Fennelly who took them on a tour of the garden. This wonderful garden in Blackrock Park was planted by children in 2011. The garden includes vegetables, herbs, fruit trees, flowers and wild plants. There are also areas for wildlife and a plentiful supply of food for birds. This garden also has an Outdoor Classroom that is used by local schools and community groups. The committee learned a lot from Mrs. Fennelly and were very impressed with the garden. The committee then enjoyed some time in playground and a visit to the shop for an ice-cream before returning to school.
