Greek Mythology

Ms Clarke's class theme for door display was Greek mythology, which they have been studying for the past month. The display depicts the many gods, animals, monsters and worlds that they encountered such as Zeus, Athena, Icarus, Hades, Pandora, Cyclops, Pegasus, Ceberus the three headed dog , the Minotaur and many more. Children need to be very careful not to catch Medusa's eye when passing as she is ready to turn her victims into stone! Guarding the display a large model of the Wooden Horse of Troy and two constructions of the Parthenon, the goddess Athena's temple. The door is decorated with vases (urns) and masks representing the Greek 's love of art, sculpture and drama which took place in their huge outdoor theatres. Where would we be without the Greeks ? The wooden horse display contains some interesting facts about the Ancient Greeks huge contribution to society.
