The Knockbridge Slam!

The Knockbridge Slam!

On the final Saturday before the mid-term break, our girls football team were victorious for the third time this calendar year as they completed a clean sweep of all girls county football trophies in 2015.

With many of the stallwarts of the past two years' winning teams gone on to secondary school, it was down to some new faces to keep up the winning tradition. The girls took on a familiar foe as they battled Callystown for a third year in a row in a final. Despite some resolute defending from the South Louth team, our girls were just too strong on the day and captain Grace Conroy lifted the Corn Sheán Mac Cába to be placed alongside the All-County 7s and the Rural Summer League trophies. Combined with Deirbhile Tinnelly's star showing at Croke Park during this year's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Semi-Final, this truly was an historic year for football in St. Mary's NS.
