Trip To Brú Na Bóinne
The pupils of Ms. Clarke's and Mrs. Farren's 6th classes recently made their annual trip to Brú na Bóinne in December. While they weren't present for the celebration of the winter solstice on the 22nd, they did enjoy a break in the weather to really appreciate the number one historical destination in Ireland. The children were escorted through the interpretive centre and entered the tomb for a simulation of the how the sun illuminates the chamber on the morning of the 22nd. The children were very impressed and returned full of entusiasm for the ancient history of Ireland. After all Newgrange is older than the Pyramids of Egypt!
