Veg Garden Planting

On a very wet, windy and cold Wednesday morning in April, the children from Junior and Senior Infants and 6th class, donned their winter woolies and made their way to our school field.Waiting there with seeds and spades was our school caretaker,Tony, the children of the Greenschools Committee,6th class and teachers,Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Farren. The younger children were all given pea, onion and lettuce seeds and, as Tony dug,the Senior children and the committee helped the younger children to plant the seeds in our specially constructed plant beds. The children were all excited to be part of the planting process and are now eagerly awaiting the sight of new growth.
