There was great excitement at assembly this week as two newly decorated Buddy Benches were finally revealed. Money raised from a cake sale organised by the Student Council was used to purchase two benches made by the Cooley Men’s Sheds.
Ms. Clarke and Ms. Conroy were charged with creating some artful designs with their classes and what a fantastic job they did! One bench features a colourful array of handprints, each one representing a child in 6th and quotes one of the school’s motos –
‘Kind Hands, Kind Feet, Kind Words’.
The second bench displays a myriad of flowers, bees and ladybirds with the message –
‘Don’t Worry ‘Bee’ Happy’. It also reminds us to enjoy nature and to look after it. Hopefully the children of St Marys will have many happy hours chatting on these beautiful works of art and that they will never feel lonely!
Well done to all involved!
