Monday
On Monday, we started long division and did some music. We also finished learning about animals and the various habitats in which they live. We started learning an Irish poem that will help us to remember the irregular verbs!
Tuesday
On Tuesday we designed our Mayan masks. We wrote creative potions as it is Halloween soon. These will go with our slime which we will be making next week. The girls lost their Gaelic match against Louth Village by 1 point, hard luck girls! Today we watched 10 minutes of Blue Planet with David Attenborough. We learned about the journey of a salmon and also what an important role they play in our environment.
Wednesday
On Wednesday we started our spooky haunted houses for Halloween art. There was also football training after school for the boys and girls.
Thursday
On Thursday we finished our Halloween art. They turned out really well! The boys had basketball training. We wrote a brilliant Halloween poem together as a class. It is called ‘Halloween Scream’. During maths, we were mini múinteoirs and helped each other with long division word problems.
Friday
On Friday it was Ms. Conroy’s birthday and we surprised her with a card, some buns and lots of chocolate! We also went swimming and had buddy reading. Another great week in 5th class!
