Mrs Farren opened our first assembly of the calendar year by introducing Ms O’Callaghan’s and Mr McClean’s classes who performed a wonderful rendition of “Live Your Story” ahead of their trip to the Peace Proms next month.
6th class pupils, Ella and Aideen, then began proceedings with a prayer.
Mrs Farren read out the achievements for the month with the winners of Students and Pupils of the Month being presented with their trophy by their teachers.
Mrs Farren then spoke about the wonderful day we had in St Mary’s NS last week as we hosted over 130 grandparents for Grandparents’ Day 2023. She extended particular thanks to the teachers and staff who facilitated the very special occasion and also Ms Finnegan’s Student Council who performed superbly in aiding with the smooth process on the day.
Three new students have joined us since the beginning of the year and they were given a very warm welcome while the 6th class pupils entertained us with a fantastic performance of “Auld Lang Syne.”
Finally the winners of the Greenschools’ Most Eco Friendly class competition were announced for January – Ms Finnegan’s class!
