The Louth inter schools’ basketball league which started back in October finished up on Monday last with another exciting, nail biting blitz in the Sports’ Centre between Ballapousta and Dromiskin. Wearing the new basketball kit proved lucky for the boys as they won both their games in very tight matches and were once again winners of the league and the Tom Kindlon Memorial Cup. The girls battled hard against these two teams but narrowly lost. Many of this team had never played competitive sport or basketball before! They came third overall in the League which is an amazing achievement. Medals and the cup will be presented at next assembly. Well done to all but in particular to the coaches and teachers, Ms Clarke and Miss Conroy who trained the children every week from September. Many thanks to the Louth Mini Basketball Committee for organising this fantastic league.
