Mission Statement
St. Mary’s National School, Knockbridge is a co-educational Catholic school, which strives to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.
While St. Mary’s National School is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions. Children from other religions are welcome and all necessary arrangements will be made to cater for them. St. Mary’s N.S. will strive to promote both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers. St. Mary’s N.S. will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and through their involvement in the Parents and Friends Association.
St. Mary’s N.S. will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the shcool community, to imbue in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being responsible.
St. Mary’s N.S. will promote gender equality amongst the teachers and pupils.

Philosophy/Ethos of St Mary’s National School
St. Mary’s NS recognizes the unique nature of each child, as it is expressed in each child’s personality, intelligence and potential for development. The school aims to maximise each child’s potentiality and to nurture the child in all dimensions of his/her life – spiritual, moral, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, religious, social and physical.
