As we are celebrating Science Week we decided to invite a real life scientist into the school to speak to the pupils of 4th and 6th classes about science and her life!
Niamh Lynch is a former pupil of St Mary’s NS and has lived in Knockbridge for most of her life. She is a Medical Scientist in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and Science has played a huge part in her life.
She told us all about her work and studies in science and the pupils had many probing and interesting questions for Niamh that challenged and impressed her.
The talk went down very well with the senior school as many hands were raised at the end when asked if they would be interested in following Niamh’s footsteps! Míle buíochas Niamh.
