The children take part in Aistear every day. Aistear is a curriculum framework for children from birth to six years in Ireland. Aistear shows how important play is for a child’s learning and development. Find out more about Aistear here. For September we focused on the theme of the Home. The Junior Infants developed their language and vocabulary around this theme. The children played role-play in a kitchen area. They also enjoyed playing with Ms. Sweeney’s old dollhouse! At the construction area, the children built different houses and some even worked together to make cities and towns! The final group involved malleable play where the children got creative with playdough.
