Student Council members, both past and present, had a great opportunity to visit Leinster House today, accompanied by their counterparts from Dundalk CBS. Local Councillor and CBS teacher, Maria Doyle, introduced the children to their tour guide and a number of our national politicians. The students got to witness the discourse of Dáil proceedings from the public gallery and even received a special public welcome from Cork Senator, Jerry Buttimer as he spoke before the Seanad. His personal address to Knockbridge National School today is written into official Seanad records. Following the tour of government buildings, the students popped in next door with Mr Clune and Ms Doyle to visit the National History Museum, an experience they also found very interesting and educational. Thanks once again to Maria for helping arrange the visit!
